L.V.D. lease has been sold to the dude who ran L.I. into the ground. This is not a rumor, was posted on L.V.D. site www.dragway.com. They have removed it already, stirring up to much shyt. Check out www.prestage.com for more information.

This could suck real bad. This is the closest track to me, 93 miles.
I hope they don't close this one. But I heard a rumor the last time I was up there.

Well he only owns the lease not the land the track is on so he cant run the track in to the ground then sell it. With any luck the land owners will find out what this guy does and evict him from the track.

How far is LVD from Tappan Zee Bridge?

Tony, my estimate is about 1.5 hrs from the Tap. It took me 2.5 hrs from Vernon. It's a bit of a trip, but I plan on going up there a few time next season, probable with an overnite stay. Haulin a trailer for 5 hrs in a single day is a lot for an old buzzard like me. Nice track.

I'm just surprised that they even allowed him to lease the place, knowing his reputation.

I was planning on doing a track rental at LVD next year for the get together but we'll have to see now. May have to go to Jersey.

The trip to LVD isn't too bad. Of course it's got stretches of highway where there's long uphill pulls, but nothing too extreme. If you haven't been there, you should go, it's a nice track and when I was there, the staging lanes moved pretty quickly. Let's hope that doesn't change [-o<

I can just go straight up RT22. Real nice drive threw the country with lots of farms. We counted 3 schools for lease last time if anyone is interested
I just read on Moparts that a pro mod racer is now in charge of the track. Lets hope. I think having a real racer running things would be great.

I spoke with Bob Lang (Division 1 director) about this.
He said yes, Gary Chimeri is taking over the lease at LVD.
Also said that he's planning on staying with the NHRA, and that Bob is planning a LODRS event at LVD in 2005.

I think so. But I'm not positive... Somebody else know for sure?

Well, of course!
I wouldn't have expected it to say "we're taking over the track and will start stiffing the racers in early 2005"!

I think that is the divisional race (div 1), so yes.
