3 Bad weekends of Racing = Not Qualified for bracket finals

I was 10th in points up untill 3 weekends ago!! It was a 2 day points weekend of racing. On saturday I busted the ring and pinion, cleared 3 teeth. NO POINTS saturday or sunday!! We put new gears in same carrier for the 3 day Labor Day Weekend. I tested the car on friday night test & tune, saturday , I lost first round by .0015 run under. Sunday ,2nd time run I busted the ring and pinion again. 7 or 8 runs on gears. Monday was double points-I got no points! We put new gears in a different carrier for last weekend. Last 2 races for qualifiying for bracket finals!! On saturday- 1st time run was good, 2nd time run, I busted both bearing caps for the carrier bearings. So I finished about 28 in points, didn't qualify for bracket finals!! :x So today I am ordering a NEW DANA 60 from MOSER or MARK WILLIAMS!! Should be the end of my trouble with the rear end [-o< I was going to put a DANA 60 in over the winter, since I will be adding about 150 - 200 horsepower over the winter , to get into the mid 9sss. Now I have a 8-3/4, narrowed, braced, with spool, Strange axles and 4:30 gears. I had 102 runs on the rear before I had any trouble?? I leave the line at 4000rpms on the trans brake, converter flashes to 5000 rpms.

:( Sorry to hear that. The Dana should hold up for you though. Been a tough season for you huh ](*,) .

That sucks about missing out on the finals. I'm so far down in the points that I had no hope of making it. But it sounds like you did, up until the end.

I was talking to a chassis shop close to me. It looks like I am going to put a Ford 9" rear in , also change from a ladder bar setup to a 4-link. The Ford 9" is suppuse to be just as good or better than the Dana 60. Less total weight, and less resiprocating weight. So I have an appointment for October 18th , to take the car to the chassis shop. Looks like I am done racing for this year. Maybe I can go south after I get it back , if it isn't to late. Any body interested in a 8-3/4, narrowed, Strange axles and spool, braced and brackets for a ladder bar setup?
